Shattering Stigmas: Thank You & Giveaway

Dear Smithy,

We’ve officially reached the end of our Shattering Stigmas mental health event, and we just want to say: thank you. Thank you for the outpouring of positive comments we’ve received, thank you for opening up about your own stories, thank you for sharing our posts, thank you for your excitement, thank you. We were all really anxious (har har) about the event starting, wondering how it would be received, and we’re just so overwhelmed and happy about all the lovely reactions we’ve gotten.

This is exactly what we had in mind when we designed the event: we wanted to raise more awareness, to teach the reader a few things about mental health, to invite conversation, and to make others feel like they’re not alone. And I think we’ve managed to do just that.

If you’d like to catch up on any posts you may have missed:

  • you can find Karolina’s and my posts here
  • find Shannon’s posts here
  • and Kayla’s posts here

Also, if you’ve written a post of your own for our event, make sure you link up at the bottom of Shannon’s post here.

To close off, we’ve organised a giveaway for you all, in which three winners can win any book mentioned during the Shattering Stigmas event. The giveaway will be international, as long as The Book Depository ships to you.

a Rafflecopter giveaway

Again, thank you.

  1. I’VE SO ENJOYED READING ALL OF THESE POSTS. They’ve been amazing and encouraging and, zomg, you peoples are all so brave and admirable and fajdkslfad just WOW. Thank you for putting it together Inge (and Shannon, and Karolina, and Kayla!)

  2. I really enjoyed reading all the posts! Even though I didn’t have much to say, I felt touched by each and every one of them, and I’m so glad this event was such a huge success! So thank you so much Inge for hosting such an amazing event, and I’ll be looking forward to your posts on Whimsicality!

  3. Thanks so much for these posts you have given and organising this whole event in general! I was following more closely on Shannon’s blog but have just checked out some of your book reviews and posts, and have read some stories that some other bloggers shared in light of this event. It means so much, and it certainly reminds me how many barriers we have yet to break. And that all together, we can do so.

I’ve learnt that just because someone is considered “mentally sick ” by the society doesn’t mean he is not normal . For him/her , this is normal life, and they are facing more struggles fitting into society than anyone else does.

  5. Thanks again for hosting the event, I really appreciated the posts and so did many others! I think it’s so great you guys did this event because mental health is something that doesn’t get talked about nearly enough.
