It is with great pride and joy that I welcome you to the second edition of our Shattering Stigmas mental health event! We really loved doing this last year and we’ve been so grateful for all the love we’ve gotten for it over the year. This edition is going to be bigger and better! First of all, I’d like to introduce you to our hosts. Shannon @ It Starts At Midnight is the lady who started it all. Then we have Topaz @ Six Impossible Things, Holly @ The Fox’s Hideaway, Erica @ Novel Ink, and Aly and myself here on Of Wonderland. Together, we’re doing our bit for shattering the stigma around any and all mental health issues.
While last year we mostly talked about anxiety and depression, this year we’ve made a conscious effort to broaden our horizons. Thanks to guest posts from a variety of people, we’ll be able to discuss topics we ourselves aren’t that familiar with. We hope you find our posts helpful and relatable! If we can educate and/or help even one person, we have succeeded in our goals. On top of that, we’ll also have lots of posts about books featuring mental health!
I thought I’d start off the event lightly by giving you a list of titles about all kinds of mental illnesses. This will function as a kind of master post in which we have compiled all the books we could find, regardless of whether we liked them or not (because what we didn’t like may be helpful for someone else). They have been categorised as best as I could for your convenience; some books are in there more than once because they feature multiple issues. Also, apologies if any are categorised incorrectly! Sometimes it’s difficult to remember what happened in certain books. There are also loads of books in here I haven’t read yet, and the mental illness wasn’t always clear from the blurb. I did the best I could.
There’s some really good stuff in here, so we hope you find something to your liking.
