Six Impossible Things About New Co-Blogger Number Two!

Posted December 16, 2016 by Ella in Features, Mad Talk // Personal / 13 Comments

Hello, hello, my dear frabjous Wonderlings! I am Ella, the second new (!!) co-blogger to join the fabulous and wonderful OF WONDERLAND team! I promise I do not look quite like Scratch in the above gif when saying hello to new people, but I have to admit it’s not a bad impression! I can not put into words how ecstatic and excited to be here at OF WONDERLAND and I can’t wait to get to know all you gorgeous people!

Because I am a) lazy, and b) really, really, REALLY love lists, I am pretty much copying Anissa and her introduction post  and am just going to throw some facts about myself at you. However, because not only am I quite boring, but also quite useless at thinking up lots of fun! and! interesting! (see sentence about being boring above) facts about myself, I will just give you Six Impossible Things (Facts) About Ella. (If you get that Alice in Wonderland reference you may have a piece of liquorice in congratulations.) SO LET’S GET ON WITH IT THEN! *throws confetti*

1.) I am OBSESSED with Alice In Wonderland!

I’ve loved ALICE (we’re calling it ALICE or AIW from now on, okay, otherwise my poor fingers will die from typing it over and over again AND WE DON’T WANT THAT.) since I was fourteen. I’m still in love with it to this day, although the obsession has ebbed and intensified over the years. Here is one of my favourite quotes:

“Imagination is the only weapon in the war against reality.”

2.) Fairytales are my everything.

After ALICE, fairytales are my next favourite thing. I love the magic that every one of them carry, however big and small, and I love how one fairytale can be rewritten into a thousand clever and amazing retellings  that twine their own take of the story as well as retelling the fairytale that is already known and told. I think it will come as no surprise to anyone that I LOVE fairytale retellings. 😉

3.) I have a real weakness for happy endings!

Even though I am SUCH a pessimist, there’s nothing my grumpy little heart loves more than a good happy ending/happily ever after. I HATE sad endings in books, but even more than sad endings…I loathe open endings. DO NOT START ME ON OPEN ENDINGS. What is even the point of them? I WANT to know what happens in the end of a book and I WANT it to end happily. Is that really too much to ask??

4.) Give me liquorice, and I will follow you to any dark side.

OH LIQUORICE HOW I LOVE THEE. I am drooling right now, just thinking about you. But yes, liquorice is my one* weakness. I love it more than sushi (*gasp*). I love it more than chocolate (*GASP*). It is my favourite food (although it’s really not food as it has zero nutrients or health benefits to it!) over ALL other foods.

*Okay I might have more than one weakness. But just one or two more…

5.) I’m a fast reader but fall into terrible reading slumps very easily.

The way I read is very weird. I’ll go from reading 20 books a week, to not even being able to get through a page for weeks or, even worse, months. I’ve noticed that the older I get, the more easily I fall into a reading slump. *weeps* At the moment I’m fine, but I’m never really sure when another slump will snatch me up. If you have tips about how not to fall into a reading slump, I would love to hear them!

6.) I want to be a Zookeeper, Author and if possible, a professional Liquorice Connoisseur if I ever decide to grow up.

Always aim high, right? However my career aspirations change weekly and sometimes daily, so keep in mind that the above aspirations might change. You can bet your socks though that whatever I do, animals will be involved, writing will be involved and of course, liquorice will be involved in there somewhere, too. 😉

Well, that’s six impossible things about me! I could go on and list some other facts but I think this is enough for now. 😀 More things will be revealed about my highly boring exciting life in another later post, perhaps. Anyway, enough about me, I want to hear about YOU! Tell me a random fact about yourself! I would love to hear it!

Until next time…

  1. Welcome Ella! 😀 Nice to meet you! A random fact about me? If I walk into a store that has both pens & notebooks and a giant make-up stand… I will go to the pens and notebooks because hey I’m a writer after all. XD

  2. How lovely it is to meet you, Ella! Welcome to Of Wonderland – it is so good to have you here, & I cannot wait to see what magic you create. <3

  3. Welcome to Of Wonderland- it truly is fantastic to see new people over here (not that the old ones weren’t fabulous all by themselves of course, I just love meeting new people!!) Oh and how rude of me- thank you for that piece of liquorice you first offered, I LOVE liquorice too!!! Delighted to meet you, Ella! Looking forward to seeing all you’ve got in store for us Wonderlings!

  4. Welcome to Of Wonderland, Ella! Did you happen to blog by yourself at any stage? You seem so familiar! I absolutely LOVE ALICE as well! What do you think of Tim Burton’s movie versions? Looking forward to seeing more from you on this blog. 🙂

  5. Welcome, welcome! I’m the same way with reading – it’s so often feast or famine for me. Sometimes I want to read ALL THE BOOKS, other times my brain just can’t handle a page. I’ve learned not to force it and to just go with the flow! 🙂

  6. Welcome, Ella! 🙂 I can be a pretty fast reader, too (but not that fast), but i fall into reading slumps way to easily, too. I love licorice, but I wouldn’t call myself a connoisseur. I just like to eat it when I’m watching movies.

Hi Ella! Welcome! I love that you have so many different things that you love a lot <3 I'm pretty keen on fairytales myself – especially as a massive Disney fan. I think it's cool to be able to read fast as well :3

  8. Welcome, Ella! So excited that you are joining Of Wonderland!! Also, I FEEL YOU on the open endings. Why are those a thing!? If I wanted to invent my own ending, I would have written it myself! Jeeeez. And I think we should all just reject growing up. I am trying to very hard, anyway 😉
