I came across the perfect readathon the other day. I’ve been a bit behind on ARCs lately, so I’ve been thinking that I should use April to have a private ARC-thon and catch up on my review copies. Then, who should fall from the sky like an angel and organise an ARC readathon during the month of April? Aimal @ Bookshelves and Paperbacks! There’s only one goal, really, and that’s to read as many ARCs from April 1st until April 30th – but in a very casual way that doesn’t make you want to tear off your head because you’ve taken on way more than you can chew and you’re about to succumb to tons of pressure. You know, as you do. It’s perfect! You can read all about it here.
I am excited to announce that three of us are joining the readathon!
Here’s a very hesitant TBR, as I’m prone to throwing everything out the window and just reading whatever the hell I want:
I’m not sure if I’ll be able to read all of these in a month, especially since I’m a mood reader, but I wanted to add a nice number because I’m not difficult about DNFing books that I’m not feeling, which happens a lot more than I care for on NetGalley. Nevertheless, it’s given me some really good gems, so I’m excited to read these! I have a few more, but these all had April as their publication date, so this made the most sense to me.
I am really excited for these – a lot of them feature mental illness, so I’m hoping there’ll be a few good nuggets in there that I can recommend to you guys. I also really like the sound of Geekerella, which seems like it’s going to be the ultimate geekfest. And Goodbye Days has been getting really good reviews from early readers, so hopefully I’ll be able to add another positive review to that!
My reading goal for this read-a-thon isn’t necessarily ARCs, rather books I was sent for review. A couple of these I was sent before the release date but because I’ve been busy lately, I still haven’t gotten around to reading them. HOWEVER, that’s what I hope to change this month! I’m really excited to be reviewing these books on my blog within the next few weeks so you all here on Of Wonderland get a little sneak peak as to what I’ll be reading throughout April.
I don’t plan on requesting any ARCs for some time because my life is slowly getting busier and busier (ADULTING IS HARD) but I will continue to read as much as I possibly can for this read-a-thon, even if the books I read aren’t actually ARCs. Does that count as cheating? Yes? No? Maybe? Feel free to grab your pitchforks.
Are you joining the readathon? Which ARCs are you reading soon?
