March has been a wild, strange month. Although nothing has really changed on my end of the world, it feels like March was a never ending month of doom and gloom. The weather, ever-changing, most likely didn’t help matters — one day it felt like spring was finally blooming, and the next I awoke to thick fog and cold in my bones. But no matter! March always feels like the longest month of the year.

We would never expect you guys to donate, but if you did, we’d be eternally grateful. You can find the button for our page on our sidebar!

Pretty solid reading month! I especially enjoyed my re-read of Prisoner of Azkaban (because duh), and then there was that AMAZING finale to the Shades of Magic series – Victoria Schwab, you know how to ruin your readers. I also loved Hunted, the perfect book to keep me occupied until I saw the new Beauty and the Beast movie.
A Conjuring of Light by V. E Schwab // ★★★★1/2
Cruel Beauty by Rosamund Hodge // ★★★
Empress of a Thousand Skies by Rhoda Belleza // ★★★
Not a crazy reading month for myself, but I wholeheartedly blame that on a) A Conjuring of Light (it broke me in ways I didn’t know a book could break me) and b) the fact that I never updated my GR status, so I’m not actually sure what I read. I’m terrible at this organization thing.

Ewwww, I cannot believe how little I read this month. I’ve a vomit bug and a sprained and infected wrist which hasn’t left me in the mood for reading, BUT STILL. I feel like I read more than those two books but the above two are honestly the only ones I can remember! Looking forward to April where I will *hopefully* fingers crossed, attack and FINALLY get to the bottom of my huge stack of library books which is looking at me with judgey eyes at this very moment. 😛

I think the most important thing that has happened here is we got a new cat. I was in a really bad place for about four months after my kitty passed away, and then I was drowning in loneliness. I have to say the cat really helps. The house doesn’t feel so empty anymore, and I have a new furry friend to care for and smother with cuddles. His name is Floof, and he eats and sleeps a lot, so he’s a good cat.
Another highlight of my month has been seeing the new Beauty and the Beast movie! What a beautiful, wonderful, whimsical, magical movie. I am filled with all of the happy sighs. ♥
I am six weeks smoke free, as of this post! To celebrate, my mum took me to Waterstones, where I bought lots of books, and then she treated me to a nice, hot vanilla latte from Costa. It was a great day, because mum and I don’t really get to go out and spend a lot of time together, due to me working nights and her working long days. So when we do go out, we make the most of it!
This month, thanks to my reading slump, I also managed to finally complete Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, which led to a lot of crying on my behalf. Even Skyrim paled in comparison, and I didn’t know what to do with myself. And, considering two new expansions are out with the Game of the Year Edition (Hearts of Stone and Blood & Wine), what did I do? I restarted the game and set myself challenges. Yes, I’m that kind of gamer. #NoRegrets
Other than that, I don’t have much to update on my end of the spectrum. I had a week off, which meant I could nap, and then another week off thanks to the allergic reaction from hell in which my face practically melted off. The moral of the story? Seaweed based products = bad.
Well, yay, life updates. I would normally like doing these, however, I don’t find my life interesting in the slightest so I’m not sure how this will end up going. Anyhoo, I’ll try my best here. I guess the biggest life update is that I have a little more free time over the next few weeks! YAY! However, I still don’t have that much time for much reading. Two thumbs down. I’ve been trying me best to get SOME reading done every day but alas, it’s been difficult. I hope to have finished a couple of more books by the end of the month so cross your fingers!
I’ve also been doing quite a lot of decorating and freshening up my room with new decor, furniture and adding in more bookshelves! I plan on picking up a couple of more bookshelves next weekend for my CD collection (YES, I own THAT many albums) and a couple of more strings of fairy lights. Here’s the latest update of my room/bookshelves and the arrangement of all the things. Featuring Stuart the minion 😀 (I apologize for the bad quality picture, I was in a dangerous position to take this picture and almost died).
Man, what an exhausting month March has been. I had many plans, especially writing ones for this month that ended up going down the drain as I got attacked by a parrot at the wildlife reserve I volunteer at. Long story short I had deep bites and scratches everywhere and ended up having to go to the doctor and then hospital to get shots and antibiotics for one of the bites that had become infected. I then found out there that I also had a badly sprained wrist with possible tendon damage. All from the damn bird and his bloody beak. I’ve also been in a terrible reading slump and read like one book in the whole of March which is TERRIBLE for me! So yeah, looking forward to April and putting March behind me. Tell me something good that happened to you this month as I’d love to hear it 🙂
And how are you?
