Hello, dear Wonderlings!
We are back with our brand new blog, and right on time for a new month of our #OWBookClub! This is a book club designed for you and by you – instead of choosing a single title, we pick a theme each month. This theme will allow you to pick books off of your shelves without having to buy a new book every time – but if you wish to do so, don’t let us stop you!
We had quite a heavy theme for the month of July, namely mental health and disability. It’s a theme that is very close to my heart and will always be – but I think we are glad for it to be over, as well, since they can be very hard to read. Nevertheless, I have enjoyed my reads: Words on Bathroom Walls, The Color Project, and Made You Up.
After such a heavy topic, I think we could all use a breather, and this month’s theme is about as comprehensive as can be, so you can fill it in for yourselves.
For August, you have chosen…
Books in a series!
WELL? Tell me you aren’t happy, I dare you. There are SO MANY BOOKS to choose from with this theme, so go wild. Go on. Go forth and frolic. Read all the books, catch up on some series you really need to finish, or start a new series! The options are endless. Me, I’ll be reading To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before and Strange the Dreamer. I’ll probably pick up other series, as well, as I’m joining in on ARC August, #TheReadingQuest, and I’m still in my Hunger Games themed reading challenge!
Of course, we wouldn’t be a book blog if we didn’t have all the recommendations for you. In fact, we could probably fill this entire post with recommendations. So as not to overwhelm you, though, we have narrowed it down to 10 of our favourites.
P.S. You may notice that Harry Potter is not displayed — but of course, that series goes without saying. Harry Potter comes highly recommended.
P.P.S. We’ve gone with first books in series for the sake of ease, but you are not limited to these. Any book in a series counts for this theme.
As always, you can find more recommendations in our little Goodreads club. So that leaves us with our usual question for you: what would you like to read next month?
Happy reading, dear Wonderlings.
What will you be reading?
