#MHBookBingo: My Mental Health TBR

Posted December 30, 2017 by Inge in Features, Join the Dance // Events, Tags & Challenges / 5 Comments

On the first of January, we are starting the first edition of Mental Health Book Bingo! This is a month-long read-a-thon during which we read mental health books.

You can find all the info in our introduction post, but just to sum up: our bingo was created by Wendy @ whatthelog and inspired by the Asian Lit bingo as created by Shenwei @ (AS)(I)AN (AM)ERICA. We thought this was a fun way to shine a spotlight on diverse reads, so we wanted to do the same for mental health books.

Your hosts for this event are:

Thank you so much to CW @ artfromafriend for designing this gorgeous bingo board!

The book bingo will take place all throughout January. The aim of the read-a-thon is to read as many mental health books as you can, guided by the prompts on the bingo board. To get a bingo, you need to read all prompts on a single line or row — you can read horizontally, vertically, and diagonally. The person who reads the most books this month will win a mental health goodie box! This giveaway is international and will contain a mental health book of choice with some nice self-care things. ♥

I’ve been in and out of reading slumps lately, so I won’t be actively seeking out a bingo. But I will be reading books from this list:

We have prepared a list of recommendations in case you need a little help, and you can find my favourite mental health reads in this post!

We also have a series of events lined up for you!

Jan 10: Twitter chat with Louise Gornall
Jan 17: Australasia Twitter chat

We hope you decide to join us. What will you be reading?

Sharing is caring!

  1. Inge! This is such a cool way to start the new year. I’m going to look through the lists you’ve included and see which books are on my shelves. Like you, I am not aiming for a bingo at all. My mental health is not doing so well these days. Still, I am keen to check out posts and such on MH books! Now, the trick is for me to figure out how to track a hashtag on Twitter… >,<

  2. This is great. I have no idea if I have any books on my shelf that would fit (as I have been avoiding MH books for myself, too triggering). But I am a great cheerleader.
